    My Cars

I've had my 1971 Mercury Capri since 1985. It was originally an SCCA D/SP autocrosser, moved into Mod, and eventually retired to oblivion in the weeds in the back yard. I finally got it back on the road as a daily driver. In late 1996 I decided to run it at a PCA track event.

  • photos of various early Capris I've owned - some engine swap stuff too

In 1995 I took one very used 1979 Mazda RX7, one just as used 1974 Maverick four door, dropped the Maverick's 302/C4 combo into the RX, and created Tyrannosaurus RX. The Fordnatics mailing list got a blow-by-blow account of the build, culminating in a 150 mile out-of-state drive to a Porsche Club track event with, literally, the paint still wet and welds still hot.

    Dream Projects

Everyone has some dream projects. Sometimes they're something you intend to build when you find the time and money; sometimes, in a fit of honesty, they're things you know you'll never get around to. I've had plenty of the former, before realizing they were actually the latter. Like the old definition of a partially-finished hot rod: "all planning has been done; only time and money remain." So here are some of my dream projects:

  • VW Karmann Ghia with 4wd and aluminum Buick V8
  • 4wd, mid-engine Nissan Sentra
