Bruce's Law: "Simplicity works as long as it's complicated enough."

Let's see, 5 years ago I was told I had less then a year to live. 4 years ago, I was told, I'd never have use of my right foot, be able to drive without adaptive controls, or walk without at least a cane, and ankle support. That was from base root damage, supposedly something that's not recoverible. Oh, and not to mention a 45 min heart massage, something they normally quit after 8 mins, because they thought the longer then that would mean serious brain damage (well the jury still out on the brain damage, LOL). Or my biker pal, that was put in a coma to wait for a donor. His breathing was so bad his finger nails turned blue from just typing. He was out for 4 months. He had to relearn how to do everything other then breath when he woke up after the surgery. Took him 4 months to be able to walk half decent, and now rides his new Buelle everywhere. Riggs who turned allergic to his anti-jection drugs, in ICU, and spent 4 months in a coma. Then had to have a kidney transplant because they had shut down during the transplant surgery. *we* were told several times, it was unlikely he was going to make it thru the day. Karl, who's been in so many close calls the I've lost count. TC, who got a double lung transplant, and was on Chemo for over a year. And I mean when the Chemo didn't work they just keep increasing it and the steriods. He was certifably a loon from all the stuff circulating thru his system, and his car is going to be featured in one of the Ford Mags in a few months, last weekend they did the photo shoot for it. Mike, had a heart transplant, and then had cancer rip thru his system (one of the down sides to no immune system), and had it go into remission for no reason. Thou, they had to remove part of his lung early on. Jim, had a botched stint job, and flakes of SS started breaking loose and floating thur his system, and then had to have a heart transplant. Another one of *we doubt he'll make it thru the evening* guys. He's started chopping wood for the winter. And these are just guys I know. Like I said, it's all 50/50 chance when it comes to medical stuff. Bruce
