After the stock clutch fan died, I scavenged the fan assembly off a Chevy Celebrity, that being the closest fit I could find to the Malibu's radiator. Turns out many of the front drive cars only shroud half the radiator!
I rigged up this fixture to check the balance on the fan. It turned out to be out of balance.

This is what it took to put it into static balance.

Here's the engine bay with the electric fan. I cut a piece of door mat to cover the gap between the sheet metal and the angle iron fan bracket, which also supports the top of the radiator. Note the tab to brace the air conditioner line. Diagonal braces in the corners were retrofitted from a Buick. The tape on the AC line is because it had some marks that looked like it might be rubbing the hood; turned out it wasn't. I never figured out where the marks came from, but the car's 24 years old, after all.

Here's my mat flipped up out of the way. It keeps air from going over the radiator, and generally neatens things up. The round hole for the hood spring is necessary; the spring coil bound and the hood wouldn't latch until I cut the hole!

I'm adding dual 10" fans ahead of the air conditioning condensor. The bottoms of the fans will screw to the core support; the tops are supported by this 3/4" steel tube bracket. It anchors to the holes where the radiator core X braces went. Next time I have the radiator out I'll see if I can mount the X braces on the back side or something.

When I'm done, one 10" fan will run whenever the air conditioner is on, as a booster fan. The other will be the "oh shit" fan, with a 230 degree thermoswitch in case the car overheats.
